Superheroes: Blasphemy Against The Lord This sermon clearly shows why superhero media is blasphemy against The Lord. It is because sinners in costumes are portrayed as "saviors". Many of the recent superhero media show superheroes in crucifixion poses, which is blasphemy against Jesus Christ. There is only Salvation in Jesus Christ as noted in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12. This means that Jesus Christ is The Only Saviour. Any other "savior" or "saviors" is blasphemy against Jesus Christ as well as blasphemy against Abba Father and blasphemy against The Holy Spirit.

Antihero Superheroes: 'Heroic' Sinners It ought to be noted that antihero superheroes like the Punisher and Deadpool are really "heroic" sinners, especially since both Deadpool and the Punisher are superheroes that murder people, including the dregs of society. Even "heroic" murder is still sinful murder. As we know, Cain, the first murderer, sinned against The Lord when he called Cain murdered Abel back in Genesis 4. It is tragic how antihero superheroes like Deadpool and the Punisher market sinful violence and sinful murder in the name of "heroism." This means that antihero superheroes like the Punisher and Deadpool are making the sin of murder look respectable in the public eye. It is worth remembering The Ten Commandments in Exodus 20 in response to this marketing of sinful murder as "heroism" through the antihero superheroes called the Punisher and Deadpool, especially since The Sixth Commandment reading, "thou shalt not kill," means "thou shalt not commit murder." Murder, irrespective of its intention, is a sin against The Lord. That also means that "heroic" murder, like that committed by the Punisher and Deadpool, is also a sin against The Lord.

WandaVision: Vision of Witchcraft With the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began in 2008, having a new television series called WandaVision on Disney+, since Marvel Comics is owned by Disney, it appears that the WandaVision tv series, which began on 15 January, 2021 is popularizing witchcraft, especially since one of the principle characters is known as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch. Also, Scarlet Witch has the word 'witch' in her name. It is sad how numerous tv series are marketing Satanic witchcraft, especially as a sitcom (situational comedy) like WandaVision. It is worth noting Deuteronomy 18:10-12 in response to this occult craze marketed through a sitcom like WandaVision. By this definition, Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, practices what The Lord clearly calls an abomination. Then again, these superheroes and supervillains all practice this abomination called witchcraft. This means that WandaVision is really a vision of witchcraft.

Injustice: Blasphemers Among Us Back on 16 April, 2013, a video game produced by NetherRealm Studios called Injustice: Gods Among Us was released and was connected with the DC Universe, thus beginning the Injustice series of video games. While Injustice 1 had an amazing musical score composed by Christopher Drake, Dean Grinsfelder, Cris Velasco, and Sascha Dikiciyan, the title of the video game called Injustice: Gods Among Us is blasphemous against Jehovah. Remember that in Exodus 20, particularly Exodus 20:7, Jehovah forbade taking His Name in vain. This is what the producers of Injustice: Gods Among Us did when they gave the blasphemous title to the first Injustice video game. The alleged "gods" referenced in the title of the first Injustice game are the sinful superheroes and supervillains. This shows that superheroes and supervillains perpetuate a false justice, which is really injustice, as blasphemers among us.

Superheroes: Antichrist Freedom Fighters This sermon shows that the antichrist will come as that freedom fighter desired by the people. In similar manner, superheroes, like the Avengers and the Justice League, come as freedom fighters seeking to "liberate" humanity from the "big tyrant in the sky." It is worth noting Revelation 17, Revelation 18, Revelation 19, and Revelation 20 in response to this antichrist craze called freedom fighter as well as these antichrist freedom fighters. While Jesus came as The Obedient Son, the antichrist will come as a rebel seeking to grant "liberty" to the people. Very needed sermon in response to this antichrist tool called liberationism.

Curt Connors: Satanic Reptilian It ought to be stated that Curt Connors, also known as the Lizard, is really a Satanic reptilian. We ought to remember Genesis 6:1-22 in response to this Nephilim craze, especially the Satanic and demonic Nephilim of the reptilian variety. It is known that the Lizard (Curt Connors) first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 on November, 1963. Also, Curt Connors transforming into a lizard or any other reptilian also has roots in Satanic and demonic witchcraft. We also must remember Genesis 3:1-24 in response to this reptilian craze, since Satan the serpent was the first known reptilian. These reptilians which people speak of are really Satan and his demons as well as devil possessed people. As demonstrated, the character called the Lizard from the Spider-Man media combines Satanic Nephilim with Satanic witchcraft, demon possession, and demonology as do all other reptilians. A reptilian character like the Lizard, who shifts from human to reptilian and vice versa, is marketing devil possession in a secular format.

Superheroes and Supervillains: Super Witches It ought to be noted that superheroes and supervillains are both witches since both practice various types of witchcraft. We know that practicing both the "heroic" witchcraft and the villainous witchcraft is evil in The Sight of Jehovah. We ought to note Leviticus 19:31 and Deuteronomy 18:10-12 in response to this licensing of witchcraft called super hero media. In both Marvel, DC, and other superhero media, they have various names for their witches like Kryptonians, metahumans, mutates, and mutants. The witches from superhero media not only include regular humans, with and without superpowers, but also human like Nephilim like the Kree and the Kryptonians. The term metahuman in DC and mutate in Marvel refers to regular human witches who were mutated into superpowered witches. The term 'mutant' in Marvel, like in the X-Men comics, refers to people born as witches. This sermon shows that The Lord condemns superhero media as an abomination in His Sight since such media emanates Satanic witchcraft as its primary powers, abilities, and superpowers.

Hebrews 11: A Response to the Secular Hero Craze Since We The Saints of Jesus can relate to Biblical Heroes like those in Hebrews 11:1-40, it means that we do not need the secular "heroes", particularly these secular "heroes" called comic book superheroes. Marvel, DC, and other superhero comic book publishers are all connected with this secular "hero" craze in the culture today. Hebrews 11 is a solid response to this secular hero craze called superhero media. Secular "heroes", like these superheroes, are tools utilized by Satan with the intent on robbing people's hearts from Abba Father, Jesus The Son, and The Holy Spirit. As we also know, Jesus is Perfect as Abba Father in Heaven is also Perfect. We also realize that these secular "heroes" called superheroes are not only imperfect, but less than perfect. These secular superheroes are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Sadly, the majority of people in America, and around the world would rather choose secular "heroes" over Biblical Saints and The Saviour Jesus Christ. The people of Israel choosing Saul as their "hero" was a sad example in 1 Samuel 8:1-22. The example of wicked Saul shows why secular "heroes" lead people into their own wickedness. Very needed sermon in response to this craze over secular "heroes".

Great Sermon! They do indeed seem to be replacements for Christ. As cultural Christianity increases, as churches seek to please the culture, and obey man rather than God, spiritual emptiness develops. Looking to superheroes is a response to that emptiness. People are going to have something to believe in. Sadly this can be in cartoon characters, which is what superheroes are. But in our thinking, we should not place the cart before the horse when we hold that superheroes are a cause of the negative issues. Their increasing presence is an effect. It’s reasonable to conclude that increasing presence may be laid at the feet of those churches that put their lampstand in the closet.

Remembering Romans 3:10 We ought to remember Romans 3:10 in response to this superhero craze. It is because these superheroes are wicked and justify their wickedness as "heroism." It is also worth noting Jeremiah 17:9-10 as well. We also ought to note Deuteronomy 32:1-52, particularly Deuteronomy 32:32 in response to the LGBT craze propagated by superhero media since superhero costumes resemble the costumes worn by LGBT Pride participants.

Mention of Heath Ledger This sermon mentions Heath Ledger (04 April, 1979-22 January, 2008), the actor who played the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008) and died at the age of 28 on 22 January, 2008 of an apparent drug overdose. The reality is that Heath Ledger died in his sins and entered eternal torment in Hell. One day, Heath Ledger will be judged at The Great White Throne Judgment and be cast into The Lake of Fire. In contrast to the ridiculous movie called Batman Forever (1995), which is occultic as are all other superhero media, The Dark Knight (2008) was dark and edgy. Not surprisingly, Heath Ledger was demon possessed when he was performing as the Joker. This is because Heath Ledger was a method actor who channeled demonic spirits to manifest himself as the vainly imaginary Joker. Though the Joker is a vainly imaginary character, he, the Joker, is a practitioner of Satanic witchcraft. This means that the Joker is really the Clown Prince of Witchcraft. This sermon uses the example of Heath Ledger's death to show why Bible Believers should shun the superhero craze, which is a continuation of the craze over mythological "heroes", who were really antichrists. This also means that superheroes are antichrists as well.

Superheroes: Written By Christ Rejectors As noted, superheroes are written by people who reject Jesus Christ. We ought to note 1 Samuel 15:1-35 in times like these. Samuel said to King Saul that because he King Saul has rejected The Lord, so The Lord has rejected he King Saul as king of Israel. In similar manner, because the writers of superhero comics have rejected The Lord Jesus Christ, so The Lord Jesus Christ has rejected them. This sermon shows that Satan is using the superhero craze to steal people's hearts from Jesus Christ.

TMNT: Nephilim Turtles While this sermon primarily mentions Marvel and DC superheroes, it should be noted that the TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) are really demonic Nephilim turtles known as the Teenage Mutant Nephilim Turtles. We realize that Satanic abominations were also a cross between human and animal, which is exactly what the Nephilim Turtles are. There were also demonic yōkai (よかい) in Japanese folklore called the kappa (かっぱ), which were demonic turtle humanoids. Also, martial arts like ninjutsu (にんじゅつ), the art of the ninja (にんじゃ), are rooted in Satanic Buddhism. Ninjutsu is known for its many skills and all of them are rooted in demonic possession and witchcraft since the ninja themselves were devil possessed witches. As TMNT has demonstrated, it is centered on both Satanic Nephilim as well as the Satanic witchcraft practiced by the ninja known as ninjutsu.

Superheroes: Satanic Counterfeits This sermon clearly showed that superheroes are Satanic counterfeits. If Satan can get people to turn their attention to sinful "saviors", then superheroes are one of his primary means for doing so. Even though these superheroes have Satanic power, professing Christians continue to defend them as symbols of virtue. As we know, Satan is the father of vain imaginations and superheroes are one of his many devices for stealing people's hearts from Abba Father, Jesus The Son, and The Holy Spirit. It is worth noting Genesis 3:1-24 in times like these. The superhero philosophy is about sinful people being their own "gods", which was the very false doctrine that Satan beguiled Eve with.

Superhero Media: Reviving the Nephilim As we know, the Nephilim (נְפִילִים) originated in Genesis 6:1-4. This sermon shows that superhero media is an attempt to revive the Nephilim, which were half human and half fallen angel. We also realize that the Nephilim were ordained to become extinct because they were an abomination in The Sight of The Lord, conveying that they the Nephilim were symbols of rebellion against The Lord.

Remembering 1 Samuel 8:1-22 It is important to remember the example of 1 Samuel 8:1-22 when the people of Israel desired a human king to lead them as opposed to being led by The Lord, Our True King, Judge, and Lawgiver as well as remembering Isaiah 33:22. The people of America have only rebelled against The Lord when they desire flesh and blood "heroes" to lead and represent them. These flesh and blood "heroes" are not only imperfect. They are unrighteous. As this sermon shows, this superhero phenomena is an abomination in The Sight of The Lord.

Superheroes: Unrighteous 'Heroes' Human beings around the world look for human "heroes" that they can rally behind, but they are really looking to unrighteous and ungodly "heroes" who are rebels against The Lord. This sermon shows that superheroes are really unrighteous "heroes" with seemingly "heroic" intentions. It also shows as the title of the sermon demonstrates, that superheroes like Superman are really antichrists. Many superhero stories depict a coalition of superheroes uniting against an all-powerful being who rules an entire universe. This clearly shows that these superhero comic writers are under the influence of Satan and the Antichrist since both Satan and the Antichrist will unite the world in rebellion against Abba Father, Jesus The Son, and The Holy Spirit. We as believers are uniting to prepare the world for The Second Coming of Jesus as The Rightful and Righteous Ruler. As this sermon also demonstrates, superheroes are using their "heroics" in rebellion against The Righteous Authority of The Lord. A sermon like this is needed in response to the superhero craze, which has its origins in the ancient pagan mythologies of the world.

Superpowers: Another Name for Witchcraft It should be noted that what are referred to as "abilities" or "superpowers" in superhero media are really just another name for witchcraft. Even superheroes and supervillains with science-based abilities are practitioners of witchcraft. The only way to have "superpowers" in real life is to be a devil-possessed practitioner of witchcraft. As we know, witchcraft is an abomination in The Sight of The Lord. Worth noting Deuteronomy 18:10-12 in response to this whole craze pertaining to superheroes and their "superpowers", which even though secularized, is a gateway to the more occult levels of witchcraft.

Stan Lee: Lost Sinner Given that Stanley Lieber (Stan Lee) (28 December, 1922 - 12 November, 2018) gave up the ghost on 12 November, 2018, it should be noted that Stan Lee and other superhero artists were really lost sinners. Stan Lee not only gave up the ghost, but he died in his sins and entered an eternity of torment in Hell. Stan Lee's sinful comic book superheroes like Spider-Man are examples of "heroes" who try to usurp what really belongs to The Lord. This sermon really does show that superheroes are usurpers trying to be the "saviors" of the world. It should be noted that Stan Lee and other comic book artists get their inspiration from Satanic influence by channeling familiar spirits since these superheroes are based on Satanic false gods. There needs to be more sermons preaching against the superhero craze, which has also infiltrated churches as well.

X-Men Mutants: Another Name For LGBT It is blatant that what the X-Men comics by Marvel Comics refers to as "mutants" is another term for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. Superhero comics have become an avenue for popularizing the LGBT lifestyle, and X-Men is just one of the vehicles for promoting LGBT. We understand that genetic mutations are a result of irregularity in chromosomes. Worth noting Leviticus 18:22 in times like these where homosexual behavior is considered "popular" with people.

This merging of the secular and the occult is evident in superhero stories with imaginary realities about aliens, other worlds, other dimensions and interdimensional beings. However, this mixture of secular humanism and occultism in superhero stories is about preparing the world for the kingdom of the Antichrist. As this sermon shows, superheroes, understood from a Biblical Perspective, are antichrists.

Superheroes: Occult Icons This sermon reveals the esoteric and occult connection between superheroes and supervillains. In fact, many comic book writers like Alan Moore and Grant Morrison write superhero comics while channeling demonic spirits. While many dismiss this, the occult is evident in the writings and art of superhero comics. Not to mention that many superheroes and supervillains like Dr. Fate, Doctor Strange, Circe, and Amora the Enchantress are practitioners of the occult. Remember Deuteronomy 18:10-12.

Not so super after all This sermon is rather insightful because it explains why superheroes are not so super after all. Idolatrous hero worship Once again, we see the idolatrous practice of hero worship manifested in the realm of superheroes. While we do commemorate the Heroes of The Faith mentioned in Hebrews 11, we must not go to the extent of hero worship, for Jesus Christ is The Author and Finisher of our Faith as He was of the Heroes of The Faith in Hebrews 11.
This sermon really defeats the hero worship of sinful superheroes like Superman and Batman. While we should be Christian Heroes, The Greatest Hero of All is The Lord Jesus Christ.

Taking the super out of superheroes When you see superheroes like Superman and Batman, you do not see an innocent little lamb. You see a depraved heart hellbent on violence, especially violence in the name of "saving society."
Superheroes and supervillains are repackaged pagan deities in their respective pantheons (the superhero and supervillain pantheon applies to Marvel, DC, and many other major comic publishers pertaining to superheroes).
The speaker also correlates sinful superheroes and supervillains with the Nephilim in Genesis 6. No doubt that fallen angels possess the same powers as the depraved and sinful superheroes and supervillains.

Boldly Going Where No Preacher Has Gone Before! Outstanding series, Pastor Cooley! Informative, edifying, and convicting. I listened to all nine sermons and yes, you stomped on my toes and cranked the thumbscrews. I did a lot of wincing while listening.
You're right that there is no biblical rebuttal or refutation of the truths you've brought out in your Hollywood Series. I admire you for speaking out boldly against television, movies, and comics, even calling out Christian and "family-friendly" icons like Michael Landon, Walt Disney, C.S. Lewis and JRR Tolkien. Disney is wicked and has a dangerous agenda, and now they own Star Wars and the Marvel Comics pantheon (a term people use not realizing just how sadly true it is). Their influence is staggering and pernicious and the alarm needs to be sounded.
What hit me hard was your asking in several sermons whether listeners knew more about TV and movie stars and characters than they do the Bible. I am second to few in Star Trek and Twilight Zone trivia, but admit I flip and flop around my Bible to find Habakkuk and am often at a loss on where to find key passages. It's a shortcoming I aim to correct.
You boldly go where no preacher has gone before. My prayer is that many other pastors will be stirred from their complacency and follow in the trail you've blazed.
