Sometimes we become very weary in body and in mind, and it is a battle to pray. Yet, because of Christ's promise of the indwelling Holy Spirit we are able to learn the power of prayer, discovering that it can be an elevating and enriching experience. For the apostles, and now for us, as we pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son, through the Holy Spirit, we find new meaning in the privilege and power of prayer.
We should be encouraged when we pray, as we pray to one who is perfect in all His ways. None can pluck us out of His hand. He can, and does work, in spite of our weaknesses.
As we come to the Father, in the name of the Son, we should be greatly encouraged in our prayers, relying on His promises, reliability and trustworthiness. We are told "ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full."
Though there are qualifications which do remind us that God's answers to our prayers may not come in the time, or the manner that we expect, God will work. He will bring blessing to our soul, improving our knowledge of Jesus Christ, and strengthening the relationship that we have with Him.
Many great promises are bound up in a promise of prayer, promises still available to His people. |
