INTRO: Here is a recent CBC article title: "Stressed at work? Anxious about the wider world? You might be part of 'The Great Exhaustion.'" Then they say, "Perpetual feed of negative information outside of work can make burnout even worse." They say it is leading to brain fog and burnout and the generation most susceptible to this is generation z. Generation z are those born between 1997 and 2012 so they are between 11 and 26 years old now. Why are they called generation z? They are the first fully digitally native generation. They grew up with social media and smartphones. They live in a digital world. Well, generation alpha follows generation z. I suppose that is because when you get to z you start again with "a" that is alpha. And I ask you, what will this generation face? This generation is made up of those born between 2010 and 2024. They are growing up in the age of the iPad, instagram and the app generation. All of this has led to the new term of the great burnout or the great exhaustion to which generation z, I understand, is the most susceptible. That is our world. Well, maybe you were born before both those generations and you are experiencing the "great exhaustion" too. We daily take in our dosage of bad news and this morning I want to take us to the best news. I want to remind us of heaven, to the time when the toils of this life come to an end, and which is not far off for all of us, even if the rapture does not happen in our life-time.
