Two kinds of men are here: the believing and the unbelieving. The emphasis is on the latter. He represents National Israel. In the parable, Israel is given less in order to make it easier but due to their wrong view of God and salvation they failed. They put their money in the ground, representing natural religion. They mixed grace and works. The end was disaster. Their blessing and place was taken from them.
