Adoration: The first of a four part series on worship. Adoration is the worship of God without reference to man. It is centered upon God's attributes, His actions and His glory. Most “worship” meetings are spent rejoicing in what God has done for man rather than worshiping God for who and what He is. Like a child who runs to his father, upon the father's return from a long trip shouting, “What did you bring me, what did you bring, me!” so many Christians run to God to worship Him for what He has done for the Christian rather than who He is. The child should be happy the father has returned safely home without reference to what may or my not be in the suitcase. The Christian should worship God for who and what God is, without reference to the Christians own immediate circumstance in life.
