Knowing Jesus Christ and believing in Him provides salvation from hell and new life. That salvation, then changes everything about the person, the subsequent life lived out and the eternal destiny that follows. He emphasizes that the believer in Jesus Christ will no longer themselves but live for Him, but is then dedicated to doing His will and living as is pleasing to Him. Two practical consequences are noted in particular. One being how the believer sees other people as physical appearance becomes a non-issue with the spiritual condition of the heart being of foremost interest and concern. He also emphasizes that the union and identification with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by faith results in the radical transformation of every person into a new creation by God. This union with Christ also brings freedom from the power of sin and a new nature that has the likeness of Christ in His perfect humanity.
