Genesis chapter 1 gives us a very straightforward historical narrative of how the Triune God created this universe and our world in six days. But ever since Charles Darwin published his "Origin of the Species" in the mid nineteenth century, many Christians have been tempted to find a way to harmonize the Creation account with the evolutionary hypothesis, or at least to insist on an old earth and universe through some type of "day age" interpretation of Genesis 1. But at the end of the day, evolution cannot be sanctified by calling it "Theistic Evolution". Invariably trying to reconcile these two irreconcilable teachings must do violence to the plain texts of Holy Scripture. We must not dilute God's truth in order to maintain credibility with fallen men. Indeed, let God be true, and every man a liar!
