The world is anxious under lockdown. But anxiety is nothing new. Paul, in Philippians 4, even commands Christians in his day not to worry. This is in contrast to the world, that, in so many ways is tilling you to worry. Paul issues God's command while imprisoned; circumstances that could easily tempt him to become anxious. Anxiety wants you to take your eyes off God and rest them on you and people and circumstances around you. You live as if God doesn't exist. We trust him for his greater external provision, but not for the next few days. How are you dealing with your anxiety? God requires you to come to him in prayer when you are worried, but also, at any time too. In addition, cultivate thinking from which you can draw encouragement and gratitude. This is he opposite of continuing in silent, ungrateful pride. It is also God's way of bringing you true peace. Do you have this peace? If not, what burden are you trying to carry alone? If you are worrying, are you praying?
