I. The Greatness of the Commission 1. Disciple “all” nations 2. Baptizing them [the new disciples] in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit 3. Teaching them [the new disciples] to observe [obey] all that I have commanded you a. Teaching disciples to obey all that Jesus commanded b. Teaching disciples all that Jesus commanded
II. The Greatness of His Promise 1. Jesus Christ is the supreme teacher and the master. 2. Jesus is the chief disciple maker. 3. Jesus expects his disciples to become disciple makers. 4. Jesus Christ gives the Great Commission in order to “focus his followers on the ongoing importance of discipleship through the ages.” 5. Jesus' teachings and commands are found in Matthew's Gospel. 6. Jesus' great commission is carried out in the Book of Acts.
