In Philippians 2:3, Paul urges the church to "do nothing from selfish ambition and conceit; but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." In verse 4, he explains what this humility looks like. We are to look not only to our own interests but to the interests of others. Humility is God's answer to conceit and looking to the interests of others is His remedy for selfish ambition. To "look to" is to scope out and study with intensity. Paul is urging Christians to expend as much energy considering the needs of others as we do for our own.
