I am really excited about recognizing our graduating seniors this Sunday at Wildwood! They have worked so hard and put in so much effort to get to this exciting season of life. Graduation can bring many emotions for students and their families. Along with the anticipation of graduating comes what is also known as "Senioritis." Seniorities can be defined as: a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance. This can be true of many seniors who want to put senior year on cruise control and simply coast into graduation. Unfortunately, senioritis isn't just something that high school seniors face. It is something we can do so easily in our walk with Christ. How tempting is it to just put life in "cruise control"? This temptation can come through a difficult life season, a major life change, or uncertainty about what the future holds. The apostle Paul gives some great encouragement to the church at Philippi in Philippians 3:12-16 about staying motivated and gives some incredible wisdom about how to finish strong in our walk with Christ. I am excited to dive into this great passage and discover some ways we can avoid hitting "cruise control" and finish strong for the glory of the Lord!
