Help Me with Myself Ephesians 1:1-6 Paul has celebrated himself: his calling, his mission, his deliverance from self. You've heard that God has a plan for the believer's life, a plan for every one of us. Yet when it comes to you personally, perhaps you have not really understood what God wants you to do with your life. How often have you asked: Is there supposed to be more to life than this? When will God show me His plan for my life, just what He wants me to do? Why doesn't God tell me in plain speech what He wants me to do with my life? God wants us to understand His call upon our lives, but to understand, we must investigate His call. Note how Paul begins this letter to the Ephesians. He begins with one of the greatest subjects imaginable—the call of God. Nothing could be any more meaningful to a person than to be called by God Himself, the sovereign Lord and Majesty of the universe. When you look in a mirror you will never see yourself the way you really are, but when you look into this book, and you listen to what God says is true about you, then you will know who you really are. You have the greatest position and the most precious possessions from the most important person in the universe. You are so valuable that He sent Jesus to die for your sins, so that you can spend eternity with Him.
