Series: Tomorrow: A Future Without Fear THE AFTER-LIFE PT1B In a world filled with death, pandemic, and evil, how are we to face what feels like an unknowable future? What do we do with our anxiety regarding the days ahead? This study will provide comfort and reassurance to those living in uncertain times. I will discuss the After-Life; what believers should do while awaiting his return. Paul encourages believers to be prepared, to cling to the truth of what they have been taught, and to live responsibly in light of the future. How can we take these words to heart, and face the future without fear? Paul wanted the church in to be thoroughly educated about the Second Coming of Jesus so they wouldn't be afraid or confused. We can live with confidence in the present when we are biblically informed about the future. TONIGHT WE ARE GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT THE AFTER- LIFE OR THE DOCTRINE OF HELL. 2 QUESTIONS TONIGHT ABOUT THE AFTER-LIFE. 1. What Happens to People in Hell? A. Emotional / relational torment. B. Physical torment. C. Spiritual torment. 2. Where Do People Go Now When They Die? A. The progressive revelation of the after-life in the Bible. B. The intermediate state and the resurrection of the body. What kind of crime does a person have to commit to be sent to such a horrible place? The crime that will send a person to Hell is: REJECTING Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Savior we all need. Remember: If you decide (by desire or by neglect) to live separate from God in this life, you'll live separate from him in the next life! But if you accept God's offer of a relationship with him through Jesus in this life, you'll live with God in the next life!
