SERMON INFO
Demonstrates why it dishonors God to celebrate Christ-mass. Shows that Scripture never commands keeping this "holy" day and that there is no evidence that Christ & the Apostles ever observed this day -- in fact, this syncretism of paganism and "Babylonian" Christianity was not first celebrated until 354 A.D. (when Dec. 25 was chosen, in accord with the Pagan feast of Saturnalia, as the day of "celebration"). More information on this topic, including a link to the FREE BOOK Christmas: A Biblical Critique, is at the link below (search for Christmas). C.H. Spurgeon, in the Treasury of David, on Psalm 81:4, wrote, "When it can be proved that the observance of Christmas, Whitsuntide, and other Popish festivals was ever instituted by a divine statute, we also will attend to them, but not till then. It is as much our duty to reject the traditions of men, as to observe the ordinances of the Lord. We ask concerning every rite and rubric, 'Is this a law of the God of Jacob?'"

ORIGIN OF THE WORD

The word for Christmas in late Old English is Cristes Maesse, the Mass of Christ, first found in 1038, and Cristes-messe, in 1131. In Dutch it is Kerst-misse, in Latin Dies Natalis, whence comes the French Noël, and Italian Il natale; in German Weihnachtsfest, from the preceeding sacred vigil. The term Yule is of disputed origin. It is unconnected with any word meaning "wheel". The name in Anglo-Saxon was geol, feast: geola, the name of a month (cf. Icelandic iol a feast in December).

“ Great Sermon! ”
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." II Corinthians 6:17-18  What a wonderful promise is given to those who separate from the ungodly practices of this wicked world! There are many difficulties involved in forsaking Christmas observance, yet the blessings received far surpass all the difficulties!

Why call me Lord . . . and rely on a man-made holiday to bring temporary happiness and economic bondage to yourself and others? Do you not know what leaven does? And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, just as Saul did by saving what he thought was the best of the sheep. There’s a lot of bleating among the sheep. So, why call him Lord? Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God . . . (Rom 1:21) Rom 1:28, 30 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to do those things . . . inventors of evil things . . . (Rom 1:28, 30) Is celebrating man-made holidays a judgment of God?

“ AMEN! ”
Why would one need Christmas, a Catholic fable, to remind us of anything related to Christ and the joy he brought/brings to man? This is the most enchanting time of the year. The next is Halloween. Christmas does not remind us of those things Jesus spoke and did, according to John 16:13 - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Wouldn’t observation of this and other holidays tagged with Christian labels mean that an enchanting and beguiling spirit, a bewitching spirit, a spirit of wizardry behind them?

Thanks for the comment and encouragement B. McCausland. There is much more information about the Christ-mass holy day at "Christ-Mass (Christmas): A Roman Catholic Missions Strategy" at http://ow.ly/rxv0E or at http://www.puritandownloads.co m/christmas-is-a-roman-catholic -missions-strategy/

I stopped using the tree & decorations, but continued 2 put up some lights & dinner. Well after watching a few video's & ur video i will not be celebrating any of the traditional holiday's anymore. Thank u so much 4 this teaching. God bless!

“ Excellent! ”
Exactly, how can I, as a Protestant, celebrate a Roman Catholic holy day! Yet it seems as though most persecution for not celebrating holidays, especially Christmas, comes from Christians. O, that Christians would truly strive to be holy in all things and rip the idol of Christmas from their hearts! I thank God for giving me the grace to heed this truth and I pray He will show many more people the truth about all of our ungodly traditions.

Oh, that professing Christians would heed this message, and cast off all associations with Rome; including the idolatrous "holy day" of Christmass. May those who have ears to hear; hear.
