The Bible makes clear that while on earth, Jesus was a man of prayer. He spent a lot of time in prayer before picking his disciples, and notably, before in His final hours before His Crucifixion. It is also noteworthy that the Gospels records the request of the disciples to teach them how to pray; they didn't ask for help on how to preach or serve. Thus, the importance of prayer is shown by the Holy Spirit. In teaching the disciples how to pray, Jesus employs five requests. (Note that these are categories not words to repeat.) Today, we look at the first: "Hallowed be thy name."
