President John F. Kennedy ended a famous speech in June, 1963 with this: "For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's futures. And we are all mortal." He would be dead five months later. We have an expiration date. Born you are and die you must. It is a human impulse to try and cheat death. People pursue it with plastic surgery and health regimens. There is nothing wrong with becoming or being physically healthy, but some view fitness and diet as a means of living forever. No workout regimen or healthy diet can save you. As my dad used to say, "Something's gonna get ya." He was right. Death is inevitable. Though it happens to everyone, no one thinks it is going to happen to them. But Jesus is the answer and Jesus gave the answer: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25) Believers in Jesus already have eternal life - unbroken, unending life. Death died when Christ died!
