Pastor Chronister tells us, this is lecture number 83 in this series, and if you've missed the first 82... it's gonna be a rough day. So, if this lecture holds any interest for you at all, just go back and listen to the lecture given on 08/24/08, and then listen from there. That should get you caught up on at least with the Genesis 15 section of this series... ...what's that? You want to know how many that is? Well... it's only 27. They're only an hour long each. Hey, we had to go through it. Just know that if you do too, you are weird like us, and we will have pity on you.
This is the final lectures on Genesis 15. It's on the two birds. And like everything else in the Old Testament, they portray Jesus Christ. The two birds are part of the "Take Me" in this passage and our pastor will explain that a little to get you caught up (sort of). You first see the two birds as part of the cleansing ritual for healed lepers. And he does a brief trek of what we've covered so far. It's a lot, but it's really cool.
Where are we now? We're at the Mind, Brain problem from last Sunday. It's the collision of Radical Dualism vs. Monistic Functionalism. Does that sound like it's going to be hard? Oh, you better believe it. But it'll be fun... it will be worth it, and it will be very important to you when you learn how it really works. We start with the metaphysical implications of sub-atomic diameter. Oh... you thought this was going to be just a little dabbling of seriousness, followed by some feel good stories so you would walk away impressed and feeling good about yourself? Sorry. Okay, not really. That was a fake sorry.
