Jesus is with His 11 disciples. Judas has taken off to do his thing. He's giving the last words to His disciples, and we know everyone pays attention to a dying man's last words. They are very important. 1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. Jesus is explaining in detail what is going to happen to Him in detail. They still don't understand what's about to happen and He doesn't want them to be upset. 2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. People are going to think that they are doing God a great service by killing the disciples. The disciples will be expelled from the synagogues. Back then it took 10 Jewish men to form a synagogue as a place to worship. If you were expelled from the synagogue, you couldn't get a job, you were shunned by the community, your family disowned you, and you were a total outcast. The only thing worse than being outcast from a synagogue was having leprosy back then. They weren't in God's original plan. This is something man thought up on his own. Christians were very hated back then, very persecuted. They hated Christ and wanted Him and His followers blotted out of their life, out of history, out of everything. They are destroying Jesus and His followers because they didn't know the word of God. They followed their own religion, not God's teachings. They were ignorant of God's teachings. We don't need to worry though, because God is in control. 3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. Even today, our leaders of our countries are turning against God...
