Deborah is called "a mother in Israel". Deborah perfectly exihibits numerous qualities of spiritual womanhood as excellently as any female in the Old Testament. Most of the Judges recorded in the book of Judges have rather glaring faults. Not so with Deborah. Her accomplishments are astonishing. 1. She judged a large section of Israel. 2. She delivered Israel from "mighty oppression". 3. She unified Israel, especially with her "fight song". 4. She developed an extraordinary male leader who was very hesisitant at the beginning. 5. Deborah was a peacemaker: "The land had rest 40 years". 6. She shows us how to pray well: "Lord Radiate and empower those who love you" Thats my paraphrase of "O LORD, but let them that love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might" (Judges 5:31). There are many women mentioned in the book of Judges. Deborah pointed men to God and heaven. Delilah led men into the grasp of Satan and the dominion of Hell.
