The idea that there will be a literal thousand-year reign of Christ in Israel on earth after His second coming is hotly debated.
I believe that it is unlikely due to the fact that it is found only in Revelation 20, a book that is highly symbolic. The New Testament is quite clear about a two-age model: "this age" (now) and "the age to come," (the new heavens and new earth, Revelation 21).The number one thousand is used as a symbolic number often in Scripture, for example, "thousand generations" or "a thousand hills."
The millennium is now, the age of the gospel. The kingdom has come in its spiritual sense, and we wait the consummation in the age to come when all things will be made new.
