Theme: The resurrection of Jesus is a historical event that practically affects our Christian lives. The resurrection of Jesus shows us that we can trust in His Word completely. Not only did Jesus tell of His resurrection, but the resurrection was taught all throughout the Old Testament. Jesus' resurrection means that we have complete salvation. 1 Peter tells us that God caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection, and we can know that we have been justified by God because of the resurrection when we come to Him by faith. Philippians 3:10 tells us that we have the power to live the Christian life by the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Jesus' resurrection means we are to live differently. We are to think differently by setting our minds and affections on things above, and we are to walk differently in newness of life. The resurrection of Christ is a marvelous story! But it is more than a good story. It is a story that must impact us, for it has great meaning for us. Do you know Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you taken the risen Savior by faith? Christian, do you seek to live in light of the resurrection? Knowing that Christ's resurrection was an actual event, we are called to believe Christ in His Word, to know that He brings full salvation, and we are to live in newness of life by the power of the resurrection.
