I challenge you to name just ten men or women from the sixteenth century who didn't necessarily do great things, but simply professed faith in Christ. Include in your list the famous like Martin Luther, and his wife Katharine von Bora; John Calvin and his wife Idelette De Bure; Zwingli; Bucer; Knox; and Bullinger. I have given you eight names can you give me just two more? I doubt it!
Amazing! And yet how many congregations like ours existed during the Reformation? How many congregations which included hundreds upon hundreds of men, women, and children who loved the Lord? And yet, you cannot name ten souls from that era who loved Jesus!
