This is an overview of the prophetic book of Zechariah. In this study we will see that the book can be broken into three main sections: visions, questions and burdens. The main purpose of the ministry of Zechariah was to encourage the Israelites to build their temple. Furthermore, Zechariah answered their questions concerning the traditions of men, and their coming Messiah. Importantly, he encouraged the Israelites by informing them that their Messiah would restore their nation, and bring to them their promised kingdom, wherein Jesus Christ will rule and reign from His throne in Jerusalem.
