SERMON INFO
It is often difficult for us, as followers of Christ, to know how we ought to pray. It was difficult for the apostles. So they asked Jesus to give them some instruction on the subject. As part of His answer (along with some parables to teach them to be persistent in prayer) He gave them a wonderful pattern of prayer which we commonly call 'The Lord's Prayer.'
We call it 'The Lord's Prayer' because the Lord Jesus gave it to us. But the name can be misleading, because of course, Jesus did not pray this prayer Himself. Rather, He gave it to His followers as a pattern for their prayers. So it might just as well be called 'The Disciples' Prayer.' It is a fountain of rich teaching concerning the Lord God, and how we are to approach Him. In this message, we consider 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come.' What are the implications of our approaching God as 'our Father?' Why are we told to pray 'hallowed be Your name?' What are we asking when we pray 'Your kingdom come?'
Featuring a sermon puts it on the front page of the site and is the most effective way to bring this sermon to the attention of thousands including all mobile platforms + newsletter.
