This is what Jesus prays for in His high priestly prayer, that His disciples would be sanctified by the Truth. His disciples were separated from the sin of the world, they were consecrated to God, and Jesus said that He would perfect them as they kept His word. It is the will of God that His disciples are to be sanctified! True disciples must remain consecrated to God in order to go on in faith. He does not want them to turn from Him and lose their faith. The prayer of Christ is asking His Father to sanctify His disciples, and this is only possible as believers go on in consecrated obedience to God. Perfection takes places after consecration through daily, developmental obedience. May each disciple remain obedient, endure without spot, and allow God to reveal Christ within them.
