In this message, taken from Matthew 11:16-19, we learn from Jesus how unbelievers will not accept God's prophets. Jesus compares unbelievers to children who played the flute but complained that the other children didn't dance.
This complaint is ultimately directed towards John the Baptist who refused to change his message of repentance for this sinful generation.
Jesus next likens unbelievers to children who sing the funeral dirge but are angry when the other children don't mourn. This complaint is leveled against Jesus who came with great joy and dined with sinners.
The point Jesus was making was that unbelievers will not accept God's revelation as they demand that God dances to their tune rather than dancing to God's tune.
We are confronted with the question, "will we dance to Jesus' tune, or will we demand that He dances to our tune?" In other words, will we accept God's revelation, or will we reject God's word because it offends our sensibilities?
