This message was from the Friday Devotional Series from the Princess Chapel Church in Ashland, KY by the Pastor, Douglas Salyer.
This devotional message was from the book of Genesis 32:22-30. Showing the Sovereign work of Grace in the life of Jacob.
1. You have to be Defeated before you can be Delivered.
2. You have to be Broken before you can be Blessed.
3. You have to be Crippled before you can be Crowned.
Jacob has been tossed in the fires of life. He had the trials and tribulations surrounding him. He had been Defeated, and he had been Broken. And just minutes before he is about to receive the greatest blessing of his life, just Seconds before he is to be Crowned, he is Crippled.
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
He was broken by Crisis. He was defeated by the Circumstances. Now he is Crippled by Christ.
But he is Crowned, blessed, and delievered for the Honor and the Glory of God. All by God's Grace.
