Lesson 2: Confess your sin before God ______________ ____ (Num 32:23b; Jer 16:17; 23:24; Amos 9:3; Heb 4:13; 2 Sam 12:12; Pro 28:13).
Family Worship Guide Memory Verse: Romans 8:1
Day 1: Read Exodus 9:25-27 and discuss: What does Pharaoh say that indicates his perspective has changed? In what ways does his confession fall short? Consider a time in your life when sin was exposed: were you truly repentant or did you say things like, "It just happened this one time"?
Day 2: Read Numbers 22 and discuss: What did God intend for Balaam to do from the very beginning of his command to him? What did Balaam do in response to God's command? What did God allow or permit? What was the result of this permission? Consider yourself, soberly, and ask: has there been an instance or episode of my life where God, likewise, allowed something to happen because of my fleshly persistence? What were the consequences of that allowance?
Day 3: Read Joshua 7:1-13 and discuss: Did Achan have time to confess and repent? Did he? Why not, do you think? Have you been in a similar situation? What were the results or consequences of your refusal to confess and repent?
