This is the sourth message in a series essential doctrines of the Christian faith. In this message, Pastor Robert Rohlin answers the question of where we find truth. Evangelical Christians understand that truth is found in the 66 books of the Bible. Later messages will discuss canonicity, but this message focuses on why the Bible contains truth. And Pastor Rohlin uses the Book of Mormon for a comparison. He gives several actual illustrations from the Book of Mormon that show that it is not true. He could have picked other books from other cults / religions to demonstrate the same thing. There simply is not any other book beside the Bible that has been rendered accurate and reliable by God Himself. Since it is the only source of truth, why do we keep looking for truths in other places -- like in the traditions of men, or in someone's skewed knowledge of church history? The Bible simply has no equal. Truth is required to worship God and to enjoy fellowship with other believers. As such, the devil desires to distract us from the truth or to pervert what we know about the truth. Pastor Robert Rohlin is one of the pastors at First Baptist Church Las Colinas in Irving Texas which is a family integrated church in the Baptist Missionary Association.
