By faith in God and His promises Moses' parents made the decision to do what they could to protect his life when he was born under the Pharaoh's edict to kill the males born to the Israelites. By adoption Moses grew up being exposed to the Pharaoh's powerful influence, prestige, education, wealth and pagan worship. By faith Moses turned his back on it all to identify with his people and the God of his people. By such a turning Moses left behind worldly riches for the lasting, eternal riches only to be had by faith in the true God and in His service. Letting go of any and every thing that comes between or before God and looking ahead by faith to the promises of God is all the more needful for believers today.
