The church at Sardis was a poor church, a church of little substance. The church of Philadelphia was a church of little strength. Both of these ministered in cities which had present there synagogues of Satan. That's what the Lord Jesus called those congregations of the unbelieving Jews. I think it is rather that He opens doors for churches that are faithful with the little that he puts into their hands.
