One of the traps the Devil lays is to get us to think lightly of sin. We sometimes feel that since everybody grumbles and complains, it really isn't so bad after all. One who is grumbling and complaining does not have the attitude of a servant; he is not submissive, not functioning in humility. Rather, he is finding fault with what is going on, complaining and grumbling about it. Such is characteristic of the ungodly; such behavior should not be characteristic of believers. How often are we guilty of it ourselves? Someone recently told me of a church which has a person in the congregation who claims to have what he calls the gift of criticism. Can you believe that? Seriously, he claims that his spiritual gift is criticism! If you think you have a gift from God that is criticism, what you are really saying is that all God has enabled you to do is to to go around and grumble. We think we can find all kinds of reasons to complain and criticize. But biblically, there are no reasons!
