The American experience involves guns. There is no getting around it. From the pilgrims marching into the church yard in the 1630s to Lexington in 1775, Americans carried their guns.
Here Kevin Swanson interviews Larry Cernik from the Appleseed Project, on our “Revolutionary” War heritage, and the men that founded the nation. Does proper self-government include the right use of weapons? Should a man be prepared to defend his household? Will pacifistic men fail to protect their homes? If you appreciate America's heritage, you will not want to miss this engaging interview.

Great Sermon! In response to the former post, if you read the Declaration of Independence, taxation was among the minutest of the concerns of the colonials. The British were burning their towns, murdering them and raping their lands.
They rightly petitioned the King for redress of every single grievance they had and were ignored. Again, they were being murdered by the English and their lands pillaged as happened back in England. In those days, it was bow to the Church State or die.
The scripture says there is a time for war (Ecclesiastes 3:8). The American colonies had their own established representative legislatures which the King ignored and bypassed in attempt to establish absolute rule over them.
So at what point do unified men under God get to break off from tyranny and seek to establish righteous government? To say the American Colonists were unjustified in dissolving their allegiance to the British crown is like saying that Israel was not justified in their Exodus from Egypt under the tyranny of Pharaoh. God called them out from under an ungodly Tyrant in order that they may properly serve Him.
If there was ever a justified war in the history of the world, aside from the wars Israel fought in the OT, it was the American Revolution.

Founding Fathers Biblical in Going to War? "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God" (Romans 13:1). For 38 years we've been subject to our governing authorities despite their allowing the murder of 53 million US citizens. What biblical text did our Founding Fathers stand on to initiate a war against their governing authorities? Although, "taxation without representation" (and related issues) was a significant form of oppression, isn't the current genocide against the unborn greater? If the Founding Fathers were biblical in going to war, why aren't we? Great topic! Thank you.
