The idea that God's grace continues to flow no matter how much junk comes into our lives reminds me of my days of plowing snow in Wisconsin years ago. We had a contract to plow a large shopping center parking lot that was located on the banks of the Fox river. Sometimes, during a heavy snowstorm, I thought it would never end! We plowed the heavy accumulations with big rubber tired front-end loaders.
During the heavier storms, we would literally run out of room to pile the snow! We eventually devised a very efficient way of dealing with the vast amounts of frozen precipitation. We would carry the snow over to the railing in the loader buckets and simply dump it over the banks and into the river below. Simple. That way, no matter how much snow fell, we could always readily dispose of it.
That's how the super-abounding grace of God works. No matter how much sin falls in our lives (whether our own or inflicted upon us); no matter how great the accumulations, God's never ending river of grace is always flowing ready to carry it all away; never to be seen again....out of your life forever. Isn't that comforting?
