Many turn to the examples in the Gospels where Jesus commissions those whom He heals to tell others of Him, and find in them an exhortation for all who have been saved to tell everyone about Jesus. If so, how do we deal with those examples where Jesus "forbids" some whom He healed to tell others? Is Jesus here forbidding evangelism, while commanding it elsewhere? How are we to bring balance to these seemingly contradictory actions of Christ?
The Bible's reconciliation of these is found in several points: God's sovereign will to save whom He wills; God's desire that Christ be accurately preached (more than any imagined idea that it's better to preach Christ inaccurately than to not preach Him at all, as long as He's preached); and the differences in preparation and gifts of those who are saved - some are ready to preach Christ, others are not. We must not force a "one size fits all" command on everyone, but rather use Biblical criteria to judge whether we are ready to "preach Christ." Our love, humility, knowledge, holy life, and circumstances - all must be considered as we ready ourselves to tell others about Christ.
