(#1) Music lies at the heart of the modern worship revolution; examples of our contemporary situation; God cares how we worship Him; a survey of the Old and New Testaments concerning the regulative principle in worship.
Great Sermon! Sadly, when the big name conference speakers go astray in any area, then multitudes who idolise or follow such men are likewise swept away. A Christian rap artist in John Piper's church singing in Sunday worship is indeed evidence of the rising new worship revolution and the worst aspects of new calvinism. How many so-called calvinistic churches will soon follow such an example? Coming to a church near you? Then takeheed and understand this excellent warning re: the Worship revolution.
Important & Relevant Message! It's about time someone laid the axe to the root of this tree of modern worship! Modern churches and many Christians are marked by IRREVERENCE and WILL-WORSHIP (self-willed worship, either contemporary or traditional) which the speaker proves God hates and despises, and even threatens against in the Law (2nd commandment) and Prophets. Modern churches and Christianity are marked by Worldliness and Music has a great deal to do with this as this speaker proves. There is a Scriptural counter-culture that God requires for Christians and churches -are to be well-ordered according to command and example. It is observable that ALL Mega Churches (including "New Calvinism" churches, per Dr. Peter Masters) are ALL marked (and populated) by Music innovation and Will-worship which would astonish our forefathers. John Piper's church is called out as a bad example most justly. The speaker proves these are not "secondary" issues to God.
