Belonging to Jesus Christ is the answer to whether I can live this life. We should see, not only, that Christ died for our sins but that, by trusting in him, we killed off our life-on-our-own flesh with its affections and lusts. We can use our body for good things, and reap the reward for it!
This is not meant to be mysterious but very practical. One writer says 'Whoever sees into the secret of Calvary... is conscious that the doom of sin is in it'. Do you know Christ died for you? Do you know you are justified? God has done this in order to disable sin - all of it. The thing to do is walk by the Spirit, the Spirit who keeps us fresh in the knowledge of these things, and fresh in living them out.
