1 Corinthians 15: 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
There are eight total mysteries revealed in the New Testament. This is one of the five that pertains to the Church.
This verse speaks to the Translation of believers who are alive on earth at the time of the Rapture of the Church. The trumpet, as in the Old Testament, signaled the appearance of God (Ex. 19:16). It is the last blast for the church because this appearance of God shall never end (1 Cor. 13:12). We will clearly see Him face-to-face forever more. Some as described in I Thess 4:17 will not have died but will be translated to their immortal bodies.
I Corinthians 15: 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
This translation from a mortal body to an immortal body will happen faster than a human can reckon. The twinkling of an eye is a description of light flashing across our eyes. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. When the last trumpet for the Church sounds the dead raise out of their graves then those who are alive are translated and rise to meet the Lord in the air.
