Healthy people eat! The lack of an appetite is usually a sign that something is wrong in the body, either physically or psychologically. The same is true in the spiritual realm. Healthy Christians have a healthy spiritual appetite. Peter says that we are to be like a newborn babe who cannot get enough of mother's milk. W are to have that same intense longing for the Word of God, for our very life depends upon God's Word. But why is it that we sometime lose our spiritual appetite? And what can we do when we find that our spiritual appetite is waning? Peter, in 1 Peter 2, lists five spiritual appetite suppressants and then shares how we can lay aside these to regain our appetite for God's Word. For those who have tasted of God's grace will have a hunger for more. But the inverse is true for those who have never tasted God's grace in salvation will not have a hunger for spiritual matters. So, the question is: How hungry are you??
