I am a former SDA, and I just wanted to mention some other verses that have helped me.
John 5: 24
Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.
John 3: 15
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Jesus here is speaking of Abraham:
John 8: 5: 51, 52
Verily, Verily, I say unto you, if a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
(It is repeated in verse 52)
John 11: 25, 26
Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection and the life, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
And whosoever believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
John 6:47
Verily, verily he that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
I am so thankful not to believe in soul sleep any longer.

p.s. By the way, SDA believe that when the word "spirit" is used it means our "breath", and that it returns to God when we die.
They believe the body and soul are all one, but that contradicts scripture.
Most of their teaching comes from their prophet "Ellen G. White". She has been proven to be a false prophet
but they will not accept it
