It is heady stuff to be called to declare the testimony of God. That is its great reward and there too is found our greatest folly.

G Campbell Morgan, who was called the outstanding expositor of the 20th century, once said to future preachers of God's word these words. “The study of the Bible will curse us in the next ten years if we are not careful. Men will tabulate and analyze and think that they know everything. Man listen, for unless as the result of your study of the Bible you hear the imperial tone, the voice of the living Christ talking in your in most soul your knowledge is a mere technique that will burn you and ruin you in the next ten years.”
The correction comes only as we step out before the Cross and know in all we say only the Lord Jesus and Him crucified.
