If God Is For Us, Who Can Be Against Us? Part 2: The Triumph of God's Love Nothing can separate us from God’s love! Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (35) Tribulation? Distress? Persecution? Famine? Nakedness? Danger? Sword? God does not always shield His people from calamity (36) (Psalm 44:22) God saved His people (Ps 44:1-8) God rejected His people (no sin) (Ps 44:9-16) God’s people remained faithful (Ps 44:17-21) God’s people were killed for His sake (Ps 44:22) God’s people pled for His action (Ps 44:23-28) We are as sheep to be slaughtered (Rom 8:36) But, in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us (37) So…nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (38-39) Neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation Lessons God sometimes sends suffering to innocent people God remains sovereign over this kind of suffering God still loves His people…in fact, He sent the suffering their way! God wants to teach His people that this is for His own glory: “Yet for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” (Ps 44:22, quoted in Rom 8:36) God is showing them that He will overwhelmingly conquer!
