The Condition for Salvation Acts 16:16-34 What is the requirement for experiencing salvation? What must we do to be saved? Recognize Your Need. This is the first step the jailer had to take. Paul and Silas knew he needed to be saved. Realize That Jesus Can Meet That Need. The second step is to realize that Jesus can meet that need. When the jailer cried out, "What must I do to be saved?" Paul and Silas pointed him to Jesus. But how can we receive the gift of life that Jesus wants to give us? How can we experience the salvation which Jesus provides for us? Repentance and faith. We need to be saved. Because we are all sinners, our sin has separated us from God and the only way it can happen is through Jesus Christ. That is the requirement for salvation? The Bible says we must repent and we must believe. These are not two requirements but two sides to the same coin. To be saved, a person only needs to recognize two facts: your sin and Christ's sufficiency. If you will recognize those two facts today, and turn from your sin in repentance, and turn to Christ in faith, then you too can be saved.
