He didn't separate the presupposition of the ontological Trinity from that of divinely inspired Scripture. He would say that it is impossible to separate the two; in fact, to try would be to do such damage to the Christian worldview as to reduce it to irrationality.
He would say, "Our presupposition is that of the ontological Trinity, Who, it goes without saying, is the Self-Revelatory God Who reveals Himself in an enscripturated way."
