An inspiring sermon Pastor Pickett, by way of a postscript to my comment above, I would add . . .
You truly are a loving and caring shepherd who watches diligently over the flock God has entrusted to you.
More than that . . the poignant testimony you give of your own trial of affliction with cancer uniquely qualifies you to both comfort and instruct the Lord's people with both compassion and love.
You speak out of the "abundant good treasure of your heart" and your ministry is a rich and continual source of blessing to me. I have the deepest regard for you and do “highly esteem you in love for your work's sake.”
(1 Thess. 5:12)
May God be pleased to add the increase to your labours in the Word and confirm His work in you. (Acts 2:47)
Those of “like precious faith” who sincerely desire to “follow on to know the Lord” and grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, being built up in their most holy faith, will be greatly blessed by your ministry as well!

An inspiring sermon Pastor Pickett . . .
I was not especially surprised to learn that you are despised by many in your community and have been falsely accused by some of preaching error. Having sat under your ministry vis a vis Sermon Audio for sometime now, my immediate thought and reaction to that was “nothing could be further from the truth”.
Your preaching is most solemn, searching the heart, probing the conscience and is both convincing and compelling and comes with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. The discovery your preaching makes of man's sinful nature is a painful truth which the natural man recoils from.
They cannot endure the pricks to their conscience that your preaching evokes, and so as in the days of Isaiah, seek out preachers who will speak unto them “smooth things” and "prophesy deceits". (Is. 30:10)
Your sermons are weighty,soul-searching, instructive, stirring and challenge us to consider the reality of our religion. Like a physician, who with great precision makes an incision to remove the disease, your preaching cuts to the very heart of our sin sick souls that the remedy found in Christ might be sought by some. Your ministry is evidently a labour of love for God and for the souls of men.
