In this series on Basic Bible Doctrines we are considering several of the elementary truths of God's Word regarding the God's revelation of himself and the work of Redemption.
We are progressing through a series of studies on the Ordo Salutis (or Order of Salvation). With this morning's study we are looking at the second outworking of God's grace in the hearts and souls of men: SANCTIFICATION.
Before time God sovereignly determines to save his own. In time he effectually calls them. The result of this call is the regeneration of their hearts. This inward change becomes evident when they are brought to faith and show that they are converted. Hence, conversion is the fruit or evidence of regeneration (and not the other way around).
The other elements that are seen are faith, repentance, justification and adoption. This message considers 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We will see: 1. The Condition of Sanctification 2. The Character of Sanctification 3. The Continuance of Sanctification
