In this fourth and final sermon on the subject of Christian liberty we examine the distinction between the principle and the practice of liberty. Wherever the principle of Christian liberty is valid the practice of that liberty is legitimate. However, practicing our legitimate liberties in the presence of weaker brothers who do not share our liberty is a sin, both against God's people and against Christ Himself. Our love for the never dying souls of our brothers and sisters in Christ must also take precedence over our enjoyment of our liberties.
