Christians pray because we have a powerful and attentive God. We pray because we have a Mediator between us and God: Jesus Christ. Our Mediator continually prays for us, and Christians pray for those who are not yet saved. We pray with Gospel confidence through God's own motivating power. One reason we can pray is because Jesus has given his life in order to purchase those for whom we pray. One obvious reality here is that the unbeliever who hears this must come to Christ themselves. We have received and unspeakable gift of grace, so we should be eager to see others receive this gift too.
