We have now come to the final pages of the book of Esther. God's people have gone through a roller-coaster of life-threatening edicts. When they lost hope, the Lord mysteriously visited them to renew their hope. And even though it is the appointed day for their extermination, they are no longer afraid, because the tables are turned. The new edict that grants them permission to defend themselves has given them renewed energy. The government that was once against them is now on their side, and therefore they're facing their challenge with confidence. No wonder the joy of their salvation is too great to forget. It forces them to institute a feast that will remind them of God's mighty works of deliverance.
This same God is at work around us today in Christ Jesus, protecting His children and saving the lost from their impending danger of Hell. We have every reason to celebrate because the invisible God is actively involved in our lives today. He is the Lord who gives us victory over various kinds of battles we fight every day. He is the God who turns the tables for our benefit!
"…there was joy and gladness among God's Children…"
