God said I will be with you. Moses was an educated man with all the benefits of royalty, then he lost it all. He spent 40 years in the wilderness taking care of his father-in-law's sheep. When all of a sudden he sees something he had never seen, a bush on fire that was not consumed. But it was not until Moses went over to investigate did God speak to him. The word of God, the Bible, is like the burning bush, a fire that has never gone out. God knows everything about you and has a plan for your life, a good plan. Jesus is the sacrifice from God that allows us to draw near to God. God said He has seen, He has heard the cries, and He cares and has come for His people. God proclaimed that He was going to rescue His people. God did not need Moses to lead the people out of Egypt, but He chooses to love people and work through them. God wants us, He does not need us. Jesus told His followers that we are the salt of the earth and warned us not to lose our saltiness. The name of God, revealed to Moses, changes history. God revealing Himself and showing us Who He is, is the greatest gift.
